Brian Patrick Cowan, 56, of Summerville, passed away on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024.
Brian was born on September 29th, 1968, in Fort McClellan, AL, a son of Marion Cowan and the late Ora Hiatt Cowan. Brian met the love of his life, Rebecca Dodson Cowan, in Manhattan, KS and they were married 34 years! He attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Conway, SC and earned an associate's degree in business and major in culinary arts technology. Brian was a sports fanatic, nearly never missing a Clemson, Kansas City Chiefs, or Carolina Panthers football game. He had a strong love for animals, especially his cat, Maverick, which he rescued from a young age. Brian was loyal to his workplace and spent 25 years working for Alumax/Alcoa/Century Aluminum. Brian enjoyed preparing meals and traveling with his family, creating memories along the way. He was a gentle soul who would always find a way to help someone in need. He was loved dearly by his family, children, and animals.
In addition to his loving wife, Rebecca Cowan, he is survived by his beloved children: Cassandra Vanderhoof (Richard Vanderhoof III) and Brandon Cowan; his grandchildren: Freya Vanderhoof and Alora Vanderhoof; his siblings: Susanne Cowan and Cynthia Fowler.
