Brian Douglas Washington, 51, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. Born on November 17, 1973, in Pensacola, FL, Brian was a true beach lover who found peace gazing at the emerald waters of Pensacola Beach. After graduating from Pensacola High School in 1991, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army. Following his service, he began a 22-year career with the Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration. Brian's boisterous spirit, quick wit, and charm became a staple at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where he was well-loved and widely known.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Washington; his daughters, Brianni Washington, Brittani Washington, and Whittani Washington; bonus daughters, Zsariyah Broughton and Milan Broughton; his grandmother, Mamie McCullough; his mother, Donna McCullough; sister, Brenna Weaver; brother, Marcus Catchings; and a host of beloved family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter "Mac" McCullough; his uncle, Walter "Glen" McCullough; and his mother-in-law, Adeline Theodore-Abel.
A proud Florida Gator since 1987-the year fellow Pensacola native Emmitt Smith took the field-Brian lived and breathed orange and blue. It's only fitting he witnessed the Gators win the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship just days before his passing. Chomp Chomp!
