Bruce Kelleher, age 79, a longtime resident of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at South Shore Hospital. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Elmer and Doris Kelleher. He graduated Brockton High School, class of 1963. Bruce began working at Intercity Transportation in 1964 at the age of 20. He covered countless miles for more than 40 years working for companies including Cape Cod Overland Express, Bourne Transportation and Fowlers Express. He was the proud owner operator of Ryan's Express in the early 1980's. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 653.
Bruce was an avid record collector, and as everyone who knew him, knows he especially loved his Bobby Darin collection. He was a passionate Detroit Lions football fan. He loved watching his sons playing soccer and baseball and attending swimming competitions. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren fishing and bowling, and enjoyed vacationing in Naples, Florida.
Bruce is survived by his spouse, Karen Hanney Kelleher. He was the devoted father of Ryan Kelleher and his wife Rachael (Powers) of Bridgewater and Jeffrey Kelleher of Kansas City, Missouri and was the cherished Grampa of Riley and Logan. He was the loving brother of sister Linda Whitworth of Onset and the late Peter Kelleher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, July 23rd from 4-6 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 98 Bedford St, Bridgewater. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 6 PM.
