It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carl William Bainbridge Jr. on October 14, 2023, at the age of 73. Carl was a dedicated husband to Anne, a loving father to his son, Mike (Jacquelyn), and daughter, Mary (Marcus Siu), and a cherished Pawpaw to his grandchildren, Austin, Adeline, Evey, and Margot. He also leaves behind his sisters, Susan Thorne (Bill) and Brenda Bainbridge (Fred Pressano). A retired General Electric employee of 36 years, Carl's unwavering love for his family was matched only by his passion for sports. He was a dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Browns. He could be found at the Louisville Bats games during the summer and at the Browns Backers club every Sunday during football season. He was also a proud graduate of DeSales High School, which he continued to support. Beyond his love of sports, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and sharing meals with his family.
Visitation will be held at Ratterman and Son's Funeral Home- Bardstown Road on Sunday, October 22, from 2-8 pm. Carl's life will be celebrated at a funeral service on Monday, October 23, 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Catholic Church. Carl will be laid to rest in a private burial at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. His kindness, warmth, and love will be forever remembered by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
