Carol Irene Sauceda (Wellman), 69 of Burkburnett, Texas passed away peacefully in her home on the evening of April 24th, 2024. Carol, also affectionately known as CiCi, was surrounded by loved ones, including her beloved dog Noodle, until she was called to her eternal home. Carol was born August 17, 1954 in Graham, Texas to William "Bill" Frederick Wellman and Lura Irene (Deakins) Wellman.
Carol's family moved to Wichita Falls, Texas when she was a little girl. Carol graduated from Rider High School and later attended Midwestern State University where she earned her degree in education. For almost 40 years, Carol worked as a teacher for Wichita Falls ISD. Carol taught elementary math at Kate Burgess, Huey and Scotland Park. Carol truly loved teaching and showed up for her students every day until she was no longer physically able, this past January. Being a teacher suited Carol's servant heart, giving nature, wit and sense of humor. Ms. Sauceda leaves a lasting legacy in the many lives she impacted as an educator.
Carol loved to love people. She always knew how to make others feel special. She listened and made a true effort to remember what people enjoyed in life. Whether cooking homemade meals, telling funny jokes or pulling clever pranks, Carol loved life. She got a kick out of making others laugh, and she was good at making people feel comfortable and safe in her presence.
This showed in her children and grandchildren as she embraced every moment with them. She was a dedicated mother and CiCi. She treasured her girls and their families and friends. Carol's comedic, larger-than-life personality is definitely reflected in her daughters, their family dynamic and how they make the most out of life.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert "Bob" F. Wellman. She is survived by her daughters Hayley Hendrix-Cadle and husband John Cadle of Wichita Falls, Texas, Heather and husband Jordan McLain of Burkburnett, Texas and Carrie Vickers of North Carolina; grandchildren Annie, Max, Kingston, Oliver and Gus; as well as surviving family members residing in Graham, Texas.
Words cannot truly capture all our momma meant to us, but we find some solace knowing she will continue to guide us in her memory. And, we will live by her example as a testimony and tribute to her life well-lived and loved. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the Healing Hands Hospice Staff: Erica Farr, Lauri Weske, Areli Templeton and Christena Smith. Thank you is not enough.
Please join us in celebrating her life, Wednesday evening, May 1, 2024 at the MSU Museum of Art, 2 Eureka Cir, Wichita Falls, TX 76308 at 4:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The WFISD Foundation account by visiting http://www.wfisd.net/donate and applying donation to campus needs fund for Scotland Park in memorial of Ms. Sauceda.

Carol and I taught next door to each other for several years, went through Montessori training together, and became good friends in the early 2000s. We had a lot of fun at school. She was hilarious and kept me laughing with her kern wit.
More recently I would run into her every now and again north of Burkburnett. It was always a joy to see her. I will miss her laugh. What a great laugh she had!
