Carolyn Downs Obituary

Carolyn M. Downs, age 69, of Doylestown, PA, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.
Born in Newtown Square, PA, she was the loving youngest daughter of the late Francis and Phyllis Jeanne (nee Murphy) Downs.
Carolyn is survived by her dear sister Barbara Hatch (Frank) as well as her niece, Krista and nephew, Brian (Christina). Carolyn is predeceased by her brothers Christopher Downs (Gail McIntyre) and Eugene Downs.
Carolyn was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School and attended classes at Delaware County Community College. Carolyn worked post graduation in various fitness and wellness positions and later was employed as a gate agent for US Airways / American Airlines at the Philadelphia Airport for over 30 years. Carolyn was well respected and trusted by her colleagues, many who became dear friends. Carolyn was an avid tennis player and tennis fan all of her life. She enjoyed walking trails, photography, travel, gardening and enjoyed spending time in Cape May. Carolyn was a very private, sensitive person who loved animals of all kinds, especially cats.
Relatives and friends are invited to Carolyn's Life Celebration, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 10:30-11:30am at John F. Givnish of Buckingham, 4886 York Road and to participate in her Funeral Service at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Carolyn by donating to: the Elmwood Park Zoo at https://www.elmwoodparkzoo.org/support/commemorative-giving or to the Cape May County Zoo at https://www.capemaycountynj.gov/
