Carolyn Joan Rice

Carolyn Joan Rice, 81, a longtime resident of Lapeer and 25 year resident of the Central Orlando area, passed away on November 5, 2025. She was born on September 25, 1944, in Midland, Michigan. Carolyn attended Bishop Kelley Catholic School and graduated from Lapeer West High School with the Class of 1962. She was a woman of deep faith and a devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Carolyn was an exceptional cook, best known for her famous chicken and rice dish. She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO with friends and took great pride in her extensive carnival glass collection. Above all, Carolyn will be remembered for her boundless love and devotion to her family.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Martin Rice, Steven (Samantha Aumaugher) Rice, Paul Rice, and Charles (Shannon) Rice; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (the late Cecilia Mae) Molosky; sister-in-law, Lelah (the late brother Harry) Molosky; and former husband, Richard W. Rice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Molosky and Kathryn Molosky Schember, and her stepfather, Clarence Schember.
Friends may visit on Monday, November 10, from 4–8 p.m. (Rosary prayed at 7 p.m. by Deacon Pete Lynch) at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors – Capstick Chapel in Lapeer.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Brian Hurley officiating. Guests wishing to participate in the funeral procession to Mt. Loretto Cemetery following the Mass are encouraged to arrive at Lynch & Sons between 9:30 and 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or for Immaculate Conception Mass Cards.
