Casimere Louis DiCristina, Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Frances Lesa DiCristina, and his parents, Casimere Louis DiCristina, Sr. and Helen Larmeu DiCristina.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Alexis Ann Gardner (Brian) and Casimere Louis DiCristina III (Divina); his adored grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, and Mallory Gardner, and Chad, Cody, and Chase DiCristina; and the joyful anticipation of his first great-granddaughter, whose soon to be arrival brought him immense happiness.
A proud native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Metairie, LA, Casimere lived a full life grounded in family, service, and sports. He devoted 44 years as a dedicated clerk for the Illinois South Railroad and was a proud United States Marine.
Casimere found his greatest joy in supporting his grandchildren, faithfully attending their sporting events, and being an ever-present figure in their lives. An avid walker and lifelong sports fan, he never missed a game-no matter what sport.
He will be remembered for his steadfast love, his warm spirit, and his unwavering devotion to family.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM. A Memorial Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
