Catherine "Kay" Gunn, 92, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at Jefferson House in Newington. Catherine was born on September 16, 1932, in Hartford, CT, to the late William and Isabel (Rea) Graf. Catherine is survived by her six children who will miss her dearly, Charles Gunn of Newington, Linda (Robert) Morgan of Wethersfield, James Gunn of Glastonbury, Susan (Gary) Tancredi of Portland, Paul (Ellen) Gunn of Newington, and Bridget (Bardee) Gunn of South Hadley, MA; her six grandchildren, Alison (Anthony) DiFlorio, Sarah (Jesse) Manemeit and Amanda Tancredi all of Portland, Rachel (Jeffrey) Lanman of Middletown, Lauren Gunn of Newington, and William Morgan of Wethersfield; her four great-grandchildren, Levi, Alexis, Raelyn, and newborn baby Noah. Catherine is also survived by her two sisters, Maryellen Verrengia of West Hartford and Isabelle Verrengia of Colchester, and their families. In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her three brothers, Walter, John, and William Graf. Catherine's deep faith and love of family gave her great strength. Motherhood was her greatest joy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford.
