Charles "Edward" Dodson of Springdale, Arkansas died August 21, 2025, at Circle of Life. He was born February 13, 1936, at home in Clifty, Arkansas to Charley D. and Nora Presley Dodson. His mother died shortly after his birth, so he was raised by his maternal grandparents, William and Sarah Presley, along with his cousins Sandra Holland Woodmancy and Harvey Gene Hawkins whose mother worked outside of the home. In High School Edward was a Golden Glove Champion Boxer for his weight class. After graduation from Huntsville High School in 1953 and his grandfather's death a year later, he and his grandmother moved to Apple Valley, California for work. He joined the Carpenters & Joiners Union 944 of San Bernardino to go through their apprenticeship program, met and married Jo Bryan whose family also moved to California for work in 1955 and started his family. He moved back to Arkansas in 1963 where he worked as a Carpenter for over 50 years building many homes in Springdale and the surrounding areas until retiring in 2001. Edward gave his heart to Jesus as a young adult and raised his family as members of Elmdale Baptist Church when they moved to Springdale from California. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, Razorback sports and spending time with his friends and family. His greatest joy was being called Papa or Pop by his grandkids and great-grandkids. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Tony Lee Dodson and Robbin Dale Dodson He is survived and loved by his family; two daughters; Nora Dodson Hall and husband Jim of Springdale and Linda Darlene Wallis and husband Tim of Hindsville; one daughter-in-law, Linda Dodson of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Five grandsons; Joshua Cole Dodson and wife Brittany of Pottsboro, Texas, Ethan Oliver Mabie of Fayetteville, Kraege Alexander Mabie and wife Jessica of Bentonville, Drew Edward Mabie and wife Julie of Springdale and Lucas Robert Mabie of the home; three granddaughters, Annaclaire Presley Mitchell and husband Jared of Trussville, Alabama, Arden Hall Howard and husband Michael of Raleigh, North Carolina and Jennifer Anne Mabie of Rogers; five great-grandchildren, Parker Dodson, Collins Dodson, Layne Mabie, Presley Mitchell and James Mitchell; his first wife, Jo Bryan Lindsey, sister-in-laws Ann Brasher and Sheryl Bryan along with many nieces and nephews A Celebration of Life service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27 th , 2025 at Farmington First church on Rheas Mill Road in Farmington with Pastor Jared Mitchell and Dr. Jeremy Roberts officiating. Burial will be a private burial at Bluff Cemetery. There will be a reception for the family to receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Circle of Life or Northwest Arkansas Children's Hospital in Springdale. Cremation services are by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
