Charles Franklin "Chad" Garrett

Charles Franklin (Chad) Garrett, 83, of Braggs, OK was born September 3, 1940 in Bluffton, IN to Joseph and Leah (Murphy) Garrett and peacefully passed away on December 1, 2023 at his home with his family by his bedside.
Chad was raised and attended school in Liberty Center, Indiana. He furthered his education at Purdue University. He married his best friend Judith Edris on October 24, 1960 in Liberty Center, Indiana. Their marriage stood the test of time of 63 years, one month and eight days. Chad and Judy made their home in Liberty Center, where Chad started his career with Corning Glass. Because of his knowledge and work ethic, he was promoted to project engineer, taking on huge projects for Corning Glass in China, Taiwan, India, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Wales and many U.S. places. They made their way to Oklahoma and settled in Braggs, OK. He retired in 2006 from Corning after 42 years of service. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Braggs and the Sheriff's Association. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and teaching trap and skeet to students at Braggs Schools. He enjoyed working on his home and land, and was an avid reader of many genres. His greatest passion was his family. His love for his family was evident in everything he did. He truly was a family man and will be missed by many.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Parvin Garrett and Leah Murphy Garrett; a brother, James Garrett and a grandchild, Charlie.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith E. Garrett of the home; sons, Joseph Lawrence Garrett and wife Anita of Braggs, OK and Charles Sean Garrett and wife Jan of Braggs, OK; daughter, Lisa Patterson and husband James of Braggs, OK; his grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Reagan, Rachel, Chris, Thane James, Alexandria, and Amber; two great-grandchildren, Davin and Kaitlyn; extended family and many friends.
There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, Chad's family request memorial contributions in Chad's name to Braggs First Baptist Church 109 Patrick Ave Braggs, OK 74423 or Good Shepherd Hospice 701 N Main Muskogee, OK 74401.
