Charles Frank Niemeier, 89, of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at his home.
Charlie was born on July 23, 1935, in Evansville to the late Linus Peter and Mathilda C. (Schenk) Niemeier. He was a 1954 graduate of Mater Dei High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County. Charlie started his career selling insurance for Kentucky Central Insurance before becoming a painter and joining Painter's Local #156. Charlie later founded Niemeier Painting, which he owned and operated for many years.
Surviving Charlie are daughters, Kathy Niemeier, Karen (Tim) Nussmeier, Gayle (Eric) Ramsey and Pam Niemeier; sons, Steve Niemeier, Larry Niemeier and Robert (Sharon) Niemeier; three sisters, Mary Straub, Carol Kissinger and Dianne Gardner; brothers, Bill Niemeier and Tom (Joanie) Niemeier; sixteen grandchildren, Jeremy, Jamie, Cynthia, Linda, Greg, Jason, Andrea, Ryan, Nathan, Megan, Alexis, Sean, Ashley, Brittney, Drew and Paige, as well as ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Joan (Winiger) Niemeier in 2024 and by two brothers, Paul and Mike Niemeier.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6202 W. St. Joseph Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Linda E. White Hospice House, 611 Harriett Street, Evansville, IN 47710.
