Charles "Chuck" Rogers

Charles K. "Chuck" Rogers, age 70, of New Palestine, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. He was born in Crawfordsville, IN on March 6, 1955 to Charles C. and Marjorie L. (Andersen) Rogers. He graduated from Terre Haute South High School in 1973 and received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Rose Hulman in 1977. Chuck married Julie A. (McCarty) on December 11, 1982 in Cumberland, IN.
He was an electrical engineer for over 40 years, beginning at Naval Avionics and retiring from Raytheon in 2021. A proud Eagle Scout, dedicated his time and passion to shaping young lives through the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Serving as a past Boy Scout leader for Troop 152, a Cub Scout Pack leader for Pack 234, and was the Popcorn Chairman for the Cub Scouts. He found joy in collecting and researching memorabilia, such as Star Wars, Star Trek, model trains, Hot Wheels, Matchbox Cars and Legos. His creativity shone through in his love for crafting derby cars and working with wood. Christmas was Chuck's favorite holiday. Above all, he was a Godly man that loved his family, especially his grandchildren and he always put them first.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Julie A. Rogers of New Palestine; children, Rachel (Ryan) Pyles of Greenfield and Charles "Joey" Rogers of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Owen, Averie, Michela, Arlen, and Julia; two sisters, Cheryl Rogers of Terre Haute, IN and Sandi (Brad) Gregory of Plainfield, IN; mother-in-law, Mary McCarty of New Palestine; and brother-in-law, Doug (Kristin) McCarty of Cumberland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles C. and Marjorie L. Rogers; son, Benjamin Jacob Rogers; father-in-law, Larry McCarty; and brother-in-law, Rob McCarty.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
