Charles “Charlie” Leonard Waters, 64, loving father and husband lost is battle to cancer June 9, 2025 at his home with family by his side. Charles was born October 18, 1960 in Vero Beach, FL.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Connie of Fort Pierce and their 2 daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Baffino of Vero Beach and Cindy (Royce) Snow of Fort Pierce; brother, Curtis (Kim) of Lantana, FL; adopted brother, Josh (Jessica) of Lake City FL; 4 grandchildren, Fabian Snow, Kobe Snow, Layla Snow, and Charlotte Baffino; 2 aunts, Louise “Weezie” Macy of Fort Pierce and Yvonne Whalen of Vero Beach; 6 cousins who were closer than siblings, along with many nieces and nephews and honorary family members.

Mr. Waters is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Messer and Mary Painter; his paternal grandmother, and adoptive parents, Sarah “Mamaw” and Frank “Papaw” Waters, 2 uncles, Richard Messer and Frank “Brownie” Messer, cousin, Ricky Messer, and aunt, Gwen Messer.

A graduate of Fort Pierce Central High School, class of ‘78. Charles was known for making other laugh with his unique sense of humor and quick wit comments. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, spending time with his family and just being outdoors. While not outside or working, he played the computer game Forge of Empires. He liked to watch NASCAR and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan.

He was an extremely hard worker and took pride in being able to provide for his family. He held many jobs, including lineman, traveling the country to install barrier nets around golf courses, and home construction.

The family wishes to hold a celebration of life for Charles, at a later date with details in the future.
