Charlie Wayne Edwards, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and true American patriot, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, at the age of 88 in Warner Robins, Georgia. Charlie was born on May 23, 1936, in Hawkinsville, Georgia, to Charlie and Blanch (Hall) Edwards. After graduating from high school, Charlie answered the call to serve his country, first in the United States Navy and later in the United States Air Force. His dedication to service didn't end with his military career-he went on to serve as a police officer in Hawkinsville during the 1960s, always embodying the spirit of duty, honor, and community. A lifelong learner, Charlie obtained his bachelor's degree in the 1970s, further demonstrating his commitment to growth and service. Through all of life's chapters, Charlie remained a steadfast and loving partner to his devoted wife and soulmate, Esther (Kasoff) Edwards. Their union was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son, Brian Edwards, and great-granddaughter Victoria Edwards. He is survived by his loving wife Esther; his son Michael Edwards of Arlington, Texas; his grandchildren Erica Edwards Hines (Jason), Nicholas Edwards (Leslie), Christopher Edwards (Rachel), and Shannon Ray of Warner Robins; great-grandchildren Jackson, Cohen, Cooper, Ellie, Hunter, Parker, Tucker, Chandler, and Isabelle; and great-great-grandchildren Oliver and Owen. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews Allen Resnick, Robert Resnick, Howard Resnick, all from Los Angeles, CA, Susan Rosenthal of Valley Glen, CA, Trina Zigan (Mike) of FL, and Ellen Batchelor (Rusty) of GA; sister in-law Linda Edwards Cook (Charles). A graveside service to honor Charlie's life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Parkway Memorial Gardens in Warner Robins, Georgia, with a visitation held one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes, continuing Charlie's lifelong mission of service and support for the next generation. Charlie Wayne Edwards lived a life defined by service, love, and integrity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
