MS. CHERITA LAVERNE "SHUGE" HOBBS, age 49, of 1905-D Hobbs Mill Road, Dearing, GA passed away on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at the Piedmont-McDuffie Hospital in Thomson, GA. THOMSON FUNERAL SYSTEM, Thomson, GA oversees all arrangements.
MS. CHERITA LAVERNE HOBBS was born on Thursday, September 11, 1975, in August (Richmond County), GA to Rochelle and David Hobbs. She departed this life on Sunday, January 5, 2025. She is predeceased by a brother, Larnelle D. Hobbs.
Cherita attended the public school system of McDuffie County, GA and graduated with the Thomson High School Class of 1994 in Thomson, GA. Before her health failed, she enjoyed fishing during her leisure time. So, when looking for her, most anytime you may find her on a pond or lake, enjoying some fishing.
Dear loved ones left to cherish her memory, grieve her passing, and celebrate her life: three daughters, Quantessia Tierra Deja Collins, Kierra Sienna Alyssa Hobbs and Kali Sierra Reese, all of Dearing, Georgia; a granddaughter, Khalani Monaé Hill; a loving mother and father, Rochelle and David Hobbs; one brother, Marquis A. (Gloria) Hobbs; five aunts, Tamiko (Bruce) Byrd, Cynthia L. Hobbs, Dorothy Ann Hobbs, Linda L. Hobbs and Davena (Willie) Porter; three uncles, Kenneth M. Hobbs, Andrew (Rosiland) Hobbs and LeDanielle Hobbs; one great-aunt, Mattie P. Reeder; seven special cousins, Tamala Hobbs, Keioni Hobbs, Lamonta Beard Martin Beard, Shaqunda Hobbs, Jaquez Hobbs and Khadafy Hobbs; a host of other cousins, additional relatives and sorrowing friends.
