Cheryl Deckard Obituary
passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at OSU Wexner Medical
Center.
She was born April 22, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles W.
and Joann (Myers) Deckard.
On March 27 th, 1976, she married the love of her life, Timothy C. "Geri"
Muetzel.
Affectionately known as "Bear" by all who knew her, Cheryl was the
heart of her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with
her grandchildren-whether cheering them on at sporting events or
watching them play in the yard. Her weekends were reserved for her
favorite teams, as she proudly rooted for the Ohio State Buckeyes and
her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cheryl's warmth, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by
her brothers Bob (Diane) Deckard of Georgia, Tom Deckard of
Columbus, Oh., her children, Michael (Angie) Muetzel of Bucyrus, Oh.,
Kevin (Jill) Muetzel of Heath, Oh., special daughters, Emily and Kaitlyn,
special son, Alexi (Caitlin) Potts and 17 grand & great grandchildren.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Joann
Deckard, her husband, Timothy Muetzel, her son, Charles Muetzel and
her faithful dog, Cheeks.
The family is holding private services Friday, October 3, 2025.
The Snyder Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family during
this difficult time.
