Chiquita M. Carter was born on September 9, 1980, to the proud parents Darlene Carter and Charles Lee Wing. Chiquita was called to her eternal rest on January 3, 2024, at the age of 43. Chiquita was baptized at an early age at Mount Everest Baptist Church in New Orleans LA by the late Reverend Lee Skinner. She was a beautiful and happy person and had a smile that could light up the darkest place. Her personality was amazing and to know her and love her was a privilege. Her sons were the apple of her eyes, and she loved them dearly and they loved her unconditionally, faults and all. She was their mother, and, in their eyes, she could do no wrong. Chiquita was a loving and caring person and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Oh yes, she was a definite fashion statement. Chiquita loved to dress. She loved singing and dancing; it was her thing. She loved having friends and family around her and we loved being in her presence as well. She was so protective of her family and friends and would fight anyone to protect them. There is so much to say about her, but that would take a lifetime to tell it all. She touched so many people's lives and she will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. Chiquita leaves to cherish her memory to her three sons: Stephen M. Funchess, Jeremiah I. London and Josiah D. London, mother Darlene Carter, father Charles Lee Wing, grandmother Mary Carter, siblings: Catishia L. Brown (Charles), Jonathan D. Carter, Sr., Johnnisha Bush and Kemonie Wing, aunts: Della C. Waites, Vivian Breau (Paul), and Bridgette Woodson, uncles: Kevin Carter (Chrisidi), Micheal Carter and Tommy L. White, along with a host of relatives and friends. Chiquita is preceded in death by her nephew Charles J. Carter, aunt Lorriane C. Moore, great aunts: Geraldine Brooks, and Nellie Carter, uncle Herman Carter, Jr., great-uncles: Lionel Williams, Sr., Mack Williams, Henry Williams, and Travis Carter, Jr., grandfathers: Herman Carter, Sr., and Henry White, her great-grandfather Travis Carter, Sr., grandmother Irma Lee Wing, great-grandmothers: Mattie Lee Williams and Eliza Thomas, step grandmother Veronica Carter, and cousins Darell Carter, Donel Carter, Tonika Brooks and Shantell Carter. Family and friends are invited to attend the Happy Occasion of Celebrating Chiquita's Life on Saturday, February 3, 2024, for 1:00 p.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA 70126. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.
