Christopher Rivera

Christopher "Chris" Rivera, 43, of Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Born January 26, 1981, in Rockford, the son of Philip and Nancy (Strote) Rivera. Graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of 1999. Chris worked for Blockbuster for many years, advancing to manager prior to the company closing. He then worked for Estes Trucking Co. Chris was dedicated to good customer service. He enjoyed collecting sports cards, playing PS5, watching the Bears, Cubs and WWE. Chris loved his puppy, Cody. Chris' last act of kindness was donating his eyes to a recipient in need. The family wishes to thank Dr. Andrew Braun and his team at the UW Hospital and Clinics, and Pulmonary Clinic, Madison, WI for their care of Chris.
Survived by his parents, Philip and Nancy; cousins, Rachel (Jeremy) Foster, Brieanna (Phil) Salamone, Brandon (Amphone) Beck, Sam (Dana) Spear, Carl (Lindsey) Spear, Andrew Spear and Joe Spear; uncle, Paul (Teresa) Rivera; and aunts, Denise Beck and Karen (Arthur) Spear. Predeceased by his brother, Jeff; and grandparents, Howard & Arlene Strote and AJ & Bea Rivera. He was a very special "Dad" to Sean and Paige.
