Thomaston Clints long struggle with addiction ended on Friday, July 19th and he is finally at peace.
Clint was born in Waterbury on May 26, 1974, son of Julianne (Clark) Ingham of Thomaston. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, Class of 1992.
Early on, he worked for Ameriquest Mortgage as a successful broker. Because he loved the outdoors, he was great at landscaping, always striving for perfection.
Clint had a wonderful life growing up in Thomaston enjoying sports, outdoor activities and the camaraderie of living in a small town. He was a bright student and natural athlete excelling in any sport he played. He was a Little League All-Star and outstanding dekhockey player. He knew every statistic about his favorite sports teams the Yankees and New England Patriots and went to many major league games with his Grampie. And he could never resist a heated Yankees/Red Socks debate. He enjoyed listening to sports talk radio and Howard Stern. Hiking, camping and going to outdoor concerts, especially Phish, were among his favorite activities. He loved his many vacations with his Mom, Bachi and Grampie. Mostly, he cherished spending time with his family, whether it was a holiday, birthday or one of our cut-throat set back games.
His struggle with addiction started when he was in his later twenties, getting worse as time went on. Over recent years, our family would sometimes not see or hear from him for months at a time. Not knowing where he was or if he was alright was the worst thing any family can experience.
Our family would like to express gratitude to the Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance and the Thomaston Police Department who responded to many calls for Clint over the years. Special thanks to TVA members Larry Duffany and Lori Geddes who saved his life in 2019 by performing CPR for 6 minutes, finally getting a pulse. We will never forget their efforts.
We would also like to express gratitude to the Waterbury Fire Department, Ambulance Personnel, Waterbury Police Department and the staff at St. Marys Hospital who repeatedly saved his life over the last few years. No matter what, they always tried and we will never forget their efforts.
Clint was predeceased by his father, Timothy Ingham, his grandparents Barbara "Bachi" and Robert "Grampie" Clark, and Marjorie Grelo, his uncle Doug Grelo and his cousin Myra Grelo who he loved like a sister.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his aunts and uncles, Cindy & John DeLong, Rich Griffin, Ed Grelo, Chris Martin, Dianna Parker, Nancy & Dave Grenier and Jean Young. His cousins, Matt, Jennifer, Laura, Eric and Amy. And many extended family and friends He had a special loving relationship with his aunt Cindy DeLong that she cherished.
While we grieve his passing, we are relieved he is no longer suffering. Our family extends love and prayers to families who have been affected by addiction. We also pray that those who have not been affected will never experience the heartache.
