Clyde Lilburn Gullion II, age 59, of Lovilia, IA, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in Pershing, IA.
Clyde was born on September 12, 1965, at the Albia Hospital to Bo "Clyde" and Diana (Bonnett) Gullion. He grew up attending school and graduated from Twin Cedars High School with the Class of 1983. Following high school, Clyde went to work as a steel worker for Weitz where he became a supervisor and worked all over the United States. He was also a member of the Millwright Union.
Clyde enjoyed being outdoors and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He had a large garden where he grew pumpkins, watermelons, and muskmelons among other produce which he often canned. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed smoking and barbecuing. Clyde had many collections, including coins, cookie jars, and mason jars. He enjoyed harvesting honey from his bee hives. He was very generous, had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved to visit with others and never knew a stranger. Clyde loved his dogs, Harley and Davidson. Above all else, his true passion in life was spending time with his family and friends.
Clyde is survived by two daughters, Kenzi Gullion and Kassie Ward; his mother, Diana Gullion; his sister, Lisa See; two nephews, Franklin Bo and Cody Stewart; and a great niece, Madison Elizabeth Stewart. Clyde is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Bo Gullion and his grandparents, Claude "Hopper" and Pauline Gullion and Floyd and Erma Bonnett.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Clyde's family present from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. to greet family and friends. Per Clyde's wishes, following visitation his body will be cremated, and a private family burial will be held at the Hamilton Cemetery at a later date.
