Connie J. Murphy

Connie J. Murphy, 89, of Peoria passed away at 2:36 AM on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home surrounded by her family who was as loved by her as she was loved by them.
She banked her treasures in the hearts of her family.
Born January 9, 1935 in McDonough County to Mrs. Mildred Stoneking, she married Dr. John Daniel "Dan" Murphy on August 25, 1956 in Joliet. He passed away on March 24, 2012 in Peoria. Two sisters also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her six children, Daniel (Deborah) Murphy of Stilwell, KS, Teresa (John) Cassidy of Peoria, Sarah (Gary) Pearl of Naples, FL, Susan (Chris) Bruegge of Shawnee,KS, Patrick (Sylvia) Murphy of Lacon, and John Joseph (Lee Jennifer) Murphy of Valparaiso, IN; 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren on the way.
Connie received her under graduate and Master's degree from Bradley University, and worked as a speech pathologist for several years.
She was a volunteer at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon, the Head Start program in Lacon, and many hours at St. Philomena years ago.
Connie was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where a private family Mass will be on Thursday, March 21, 2024, with Fr. Stephen Willard officiating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
