Cory Lee (Bowering) Nero, 57, of Lincoln passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of 35 years of Joseph Nero Sr, and the proud mom of Joseph Nero Jr. and Marissa Lee Nero. Born in Cranston, Cory was the cherished daughter of the late Cheryle Bowering and Raymond Bowering. Cory built a successful career in Information Security at Bank of America where she was a loyal and valued employee for 37 years. Cory had a passion for creativity, finding happiness in crafting, scrapbooking, photography, crocheting, and making home videos that captured the beautiful moments of her family's life. She was always in the stands supporting and cheering on her children. Cory also enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod with her husband Joe, going to the beach, attending baseball games, and concerts.
A devoted mom, Cory found her deepest purpose and happiness in nurturing her children whom she loved and enjoyed immensely. A very proud sister, she enjoyed watching her four younger sisters grow up and be great mothers and had great fun spending time with their families. She adored her nieces and nephews, offering support and encouragement and celebrating their achievements and milestones.
Cory will be remembered for her compassionate heart and her fierce loyalty to those she loved. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. In addition to her husband Joe, and her children Joe Jr. and Marissa, Cory is the loving sister of Monica Noti and her husband Stephen, Sheila Zincone and her husband Raymond, Raylle Pearson and her husband Rob, and Roberta Canestrari and her husband Jay. She was also the sister-in-law of Chris and Lynne Nero. Cory was the proud aunt of Sonya Lennon and her husband Alec; Stephen Noti Jr. and his wife Caitlyn; Raymond Zincone Jr. and his fiancé Michelle Branco; Braxton and Lanesia Pearson; Alexa, Nolan, Neelia, and Boston Canestrari and Cameron, Britt, and Cole Nero.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4:00-6:00pm, followed by a Chapel Service at 6:00pm, in the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. I cannot believe this and it has hit me so hard. I can only imagine how hard it has hit you and your loved ones. I am deeply saddened and broken hearted. I often think of Cory, especially when gardening or refilling my hummingbird feeder. She was so so sweet, full of love and life. I looked forward to chatting with her about the yard and admiring the beautiful magnolia tree. I will miss her. Please accept our most heartfelt condolences. In sympathy and love, Gabriella and family
