Craig Joseph Blair December 8, 1961 – August 20, 2025
Craig Joseph Blair, 63, of Uniontown, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on December 8, 1961, in Akron, Ohio, Craig lived a life defined by hard work, humility, and a steadfast devotion to family, friends, and faith.
Upon Craig’s journey through life, he was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Blair; aunts, Carolyn L. Beech and Mabel Schilling; uncles, Robert “Bob” Blair and Donald W. Blair; lifelong friends, Lindon and Lorne Markland; and others who held a special place in his heart.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Donna Blair; his son, Craig A. Blair; his wife, Donna Graffuis; his sister, Sheri Lamanna; nephew, Tony Lamanna; and niece, Ashley Lamanna — along with countless extended family members, cherished friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched in immeasurable ways.
Craig began his career as a chef at the Brown Derby Steakhouse before finding his calling as a skilled fabricator and welder, earning his 6G certification. After a cancer diagnosis, he transitioned to a slower pace, working as a bartender and server at Prestwick Country Club until his health needs required him to step away.
A lifelong Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football fan, Craig also loved golfing, spending time with friends, and in earlier years, competing in a pool league. He was known for his determination to bring joy and laughter to those around him, his unwavering belief in the power of a positive mental attitude, and his deep Christian faith. Tall and strong in stature, Craig’s true strength was in his selflessness and humility, finding happiness not in luxury, but in the simple blessings of life.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305 where memorial services will be held at 12:00pm with Pastor Stephen Neumeyer officiating.
Celebration of Life will be held at Prestwick Country Club, 2220 Raber Rd., Uniontown, OH 44685, beginning around 1:00 p.m., following the funeral service Prestwick’s kitchen will be open upon request.
Craig’s legacy is one of kindness, perseverance, and love - qualities that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May the memory of his laughter, his steadfast faith, and the warmth of his friendship continue to be a light for all who were blessed to share in his journey.
