Craig Royden Nelson, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Bradenton, FL, on April 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth (Diekneit) Nelson. Born April 9, 1950, in Elizabeth, NJ, Craig is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; sons Brian and Stephen (wife Taylor); brother Stuart; sister-in-law Nanette Baudon; and father-in-law Andre Baudon. He will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and boundless energy.
Craig grew up in Green Village, NJ, and attended The Pingry School. He lived a vibrant life fueled by innovation, curiosity, and love. A graduate of Washington and Lee University with a B.A. in Physics, Craig built a career in product development, materials science, and manufacturing automation, beginning at Introl Industries, founded by his father. In the mid-1980s, Craig led the mechanical design and fabrication of novel equipment for the compound semiconductor industry. That equipment remains in use today and contributes to the production of over 70% of the semiconductors used in common items such as LED lightbulbs. Over the course of his technical career, Craig was awarded twelve U.S. patents.
In 1993, Craig and his family moved to Melbourne, FL, where he launched a new business and continued developing his entrepreneurial talents. His work spanned machine automation, contract manufacturing, and battery development. Craig was not only a skilled inventor but also a generous mentor to many who had the privilege of working alongside him. As his notable career came to a close, his son Stephen stepped in to run the family business, carrying on his father's legacy.
Beyond his professional achievements, Craig enjoyed gourmet food experiences, music, and sailing, and was an avid motorcycle restoration enthusiast. He included his sons in these passions, sharing his creativity and love of hands-on projects with them. His endless stream of ideas and energy inspired everyone around him. Craig's legacy lives on in the lives he touched. His spirit remains a guiding light-steadfast and inspiring. He will truly be missed.

We have many memories of the Nelson family with my children growing up. We enjoyed visiting his business, where many posters were rolled into the tubes that I believe he invented that machine in addition to those memories where he lived in Greenvillage many times we visited and got to ride or stroke the horses, fishing in the pond surrounded by the water
Lillies. To this day the Willy´s jeep owned by the Nelson´s is garaged here on our property and is entered in the Memorial Day parade each year.
Dear Patsy, our deepest symphony to you and your children. Hold him in your heart. I am sure Carmine met him at the gate of heaven. I am sure your heart is heavy.
