Cynthia Hedeen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center - Kimball Township on Aug. 25, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Cynthia Grace Hedeen, age 64, passed away on August 24, 2025, at her cherished family property in Wales Township. Born on July 14, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, Cindy was the beloved daughter of John Donald and Doris Anne (Overstedt) Mustard. She is now in the hands of Christ, her dear savior.

Cindy's journey began as a twin, sharing her earliest adventures with her sister, Julie Courier. Alongside her brothers, Rob, Matt, and Jamie Mustard, she grew up in a home filled with laughter and love. Cindy's heart found its match in Brent Hedeen, and they united in marriage on September 22, 1990, building a life together that was a testament to devotion and joy. Their love blossomed with the birth of their daughter, Chelsea, who became the center of Cindy's world.

A pillar of strength and compassion, Cindy is lovingly remembered by her husband, Brent; her daughter, Chelsea; her mother, Doris Anne Mustard; her twin sister, Julie; her brothers, Rob (Mary), Matt, and Jamie; her parents-in-law, Lee and Kay Hedeen; her sister-in-law, Bonnie (Tina Peek) Hedeen; her brother-in-law, Marty Krupa; her uncle, Marsh (Karen) Overstedt; and a circle of dear friends who were like family. Cindy's legacy is one of unwavering love and the bonds she forged with each person she met. She was preceded in death by her father, John Donald Mustard; brother-in-law, Randy Courier; and sister-in-law, Kathy Krupa.

Cindy's professional life was marked by dedication and excellence. For 17 years, she was a faithful employee at MFASCO. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her anticipation of retirement next July, a time she planned to fill with travel and new experiences.

Her spirit of service shone brightly through her involvement with the Wednesday dinners at Knox Presbyterian Church, where she not only served meals but also offered comfort and companionship to those in attendance. Cindy's kindness was a gentle force that made the world a better place.

A woman of many passions, Cindy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid member of the Anchor Bay Cross Stitchers group, where her intricate work was a reflection of her patience and attention to detail. Cooking was another of Cindy's talents.

Traveling, camping, and spending time with her family at their property were activities that Cindy cherished deeply. Her love for her dogs, Franklin, Blake, Wilbur, and Loretta, was boundless, and they, along with her late dog, Bryce Randall, were her constant companions and sources of comfort.

Cindy's life was a beautiful journey that may have ended on this earth, but her spirit and the memories she created will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A gathering and viewing will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball, MI 48074. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 25700 Crocker Blvd, Harrison Township, MI 48045. Reverend Dr. Douglas Graham will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to Knox Presbyterian Church.
