It is with deep sorrow to share that Cynthia Lynn Hudson, 66, of Grifton, surrounded by loved ones went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on May 18, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Ronald Lee and Janet Winfree Hudson. She was born in New Bern NC on February 10, 1959. Cynthia graduated from West Craven High School, Lenoir Community College (accounting), and received her master's in theological studies from Covenant Theological Seminary. She was known for her kindness & laughter, spirit & faith, and that beautiful beaming smile. She found joy in theological studies, was inquisitive on how things worked, she loved her family and friends, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she cherished most.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, 2:30pm at Farmer Funeral Service, Ayden NC. Visitation will take place at 1:30pm prior to service. Burial will follow at New Salem Church*, Vanceboro, NC. Family will receive home visits at her mother's residence at 298 McCotter Dr, Grifton NC.
She worked in the food industry, healthcare insurance, property management, and was the bookkeeper for local hardware store in her later years.
Cynthia leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Janet W Rhodes, sister, Rhonda H Jordan (Steve); Aunt, Cassie Whitford; Nieces, Jessica J Andersen (Evan), Morgan Hudson, & Cortni Hudson; a nephew, Brandon Jordan (Ashley); great nieces, Amelia Andersen, Charlotte Andersen, & Emma Jordan; great nephews Abram Andersen, Adam Andersen, & Trey McCoy. Step Siblings Russ Rhodes, Sandee Lewis, and Robin Andersen. A lifelong friend Jeff and she is also survived by Little One, her cat.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Lee Hudson; stepfather, Rusty Rhodes; grandparents, Royce and Margaret Bone and Marvin and Sudie Hudson; brother, Ronald Hudson Jr.
Whilst flowers are appreciated the family would also welcome donations to be made to her family church*, your church, or a special cause in her memory.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
