Daniel Neal Cline

Daniel Neal Cline of Grand Ledge, MI, passed away December 18, 2022 at the age of 79. Dan was born in Lansing on July 6, 1943, son of Chester and Barbara (Abel) Cline. Dan was a graduate of Grand Ledge High School class of 1963, where he was a standout student athlete in both the wrestling and football programs who set local and state records that endured for many years. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, completing three tours of duty during the Vietnam War.
After returning home, Dan spent 26 years at Grand Ledge Tire, rising swiftly to become the company's top mechanic, highly regarded in the community for his repair skills and straightforward trustworthiness. His career there concluded when Dan contended with the autoimmune disorder Dermatomyositis, though he ultimately became a literal textbook example of successfully living with and managing the condition. Remaining a fixture in the Grand Ledge community, he spent the past two decades as a parts truck driver for Sundance Chevrolet. Dan also enjoyed many decades as semi-professional, competitive fisherman, amassing a wall full of tournament trophies across the Midwest.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy (Richard) Cline; son, Scott (Cynthia) Huver; sisters, Judy Haueter and Nancy O'Brien. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet (Robert) Haueter; brothers-in-law, Larry Haueter and "Butch" Bruce Dickerson.
No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in loving memory of Daniel to the Capital Area Humane Society.
