Daniel Martin Knutilla

Daniel Martin Knutilla, age 36 of McHenry passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. He was born on June 11, 1986, in Arlington Heights, IL to Martin Knutilla and Judith Knutilla. Daniel grew up in McHenry. He graduated from McHenry East Campus High School and went on to graduate from Columbia College Missouri with a bachelor's degree. He was smart, funny, and reserved. Dan was a self-taught musician and played banjo and guitar. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed spending his free time hiking, backpacking, fishing, camping, kayaking, and boating on the Chain O Lakes. He also loved his cats.
He is survived by his parents: Marty and Judy Knutilla; sister: Amanda Knutilla; partner: Maggie Griffith; grandfather: Marvin Knutilla; uncle: Keith (Cynthia) Knutilla; aunts: Lynn (Steve) Andersen, Beth (Jim) Hoferitza, Nancy McDaniel, Sue (Mike) McHale.
Daniel is preceded in death by grandparents: Ray and Jeanne Parks; grandmother: Ruth Knutilla; uncles: Bob Parks and Doug McDaniel.
