Daniel R Meigs, 70, of Palatine, Illinois left this life on April 25, 2023.
Dan was born February 2, 1953 to parents, John and Joan Meigs in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He enjoyed spending time at his family's cottage on Lauderdale Lakes, skiing, traveling, and time with friends. He was a graduate of Waukesha High School and earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After college he began his 38-year career at Honeywell.
Dan was a dedicated son, brother, and uncle as well as a loyal friend. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Burda (David), Patricia (Patty) Boedecker (Robert) and brother James (Jim) Meigs (Juanita), 6 nieces and nephews as well as 7 great nieces and nephews.
His good friend Nancy reflects the grief of all who knew him in the following:
There isn't a kinder, more caring man that I know of and this loving man is a wonderful example of goodness among mankind. Dan will be sorely missed but I will treasure the times we shared. I always said that God only takes the best and that's exactly what he'll be getting. With much love, Nancy
If you wish to make a charitable contribution in Dan's memory, the family suggests a gift to the academic scholarship that was established in his niece's name for graduating students of Woodstock High School. Memorials may be made to Woodstock High School for the Katie Macaulay Memorial Scholarship. Mention the gift is in memory of Dan Meigs. Mail to Katie Macaulay Memorial Scholarship, c/o Woodstock High School, 501 W. South St., Woodstock IL 60098.

Rest in Peace Dan. We were only 2 months apart as cousins. And infrequently did our paths cross as adults as our lives took us in directions and geographically far in proximity. Yes, I remember you as a very good person indeed.
