Obituary
Daniel Howard Neff, 77, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side on July 11th, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Gloria (DeLeon) Neff. The two were married for 55 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Paul M. and Madeline (Frey) Neff. Daniel graduated from Liberty High School in 1964 where he lettered in baseball. Daniel worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 30 year in various roles before retiring in 1993. He then began a second career driving truck for Beck Packaging Inc., Allentown, Pa ending in April 2011. Upon his retirement at age 65, he then became the field trip chaperone and classroom volunteer for his beloved grandchildren. Daniel was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic church in Austin.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lisa, wife of Henry E. Heidecker of Austin, Tx and Heather, wife of Lance W. Baker of Annville, Pa; his grandchildren: Garrett D. Heidecker of Noxen, PA, Connor B. LaTour of Annville, PA, Victoria A. Heidecker of Austin, Tx and Quinn E. LaTour of Annville, PA; and his siblings: Kathleen, wife of James Davis, Rebecca, wife of John Urban and brother Larry, all of Bethlehem; and sister Deborah Litner of Owings Mill, MD. He was predeceased by his brother Charles (Tom) Neff.
He valued his time shared with family and friends; his pride and joy were his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. Daniel enjoyed traveling with his wife Gloria and spending time outdoors golfing and hunting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church, 312 East Fourth Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the Mass in the church. Daniel will be laid to rest in Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem. Daniel's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Funeral Home, Fountain Hill.
