Daniel "Dan" McKinley Vocks, of Chamois, passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 64. He was born on January 21, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Francis Eugene "Gene" and Joan Elizabeth (Huesgen) Vocks.
On November 3, 1979, Dan married Kim Owens, and together they raised two sons and enjoyed time with their grandchildren.
He attended Fatima High School in Westphalia, Missouri. Dan worked for Tom Sanning Construction where he enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. He had a deep passion for spending time on his property, riding his Harley, and taking his classic 1969 Camaro out for a spin. Above all, Dan cherished his time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored.
He is survived by his two sons, Corey Vocks (Danielle) and Chad Vocks (Jessica); his beloved grandchildren, Ava, Cameron, Emersyn, Maverick, Carson; siblings, Jeff Vocks (Jeanette) of Linn, Lynn Byrd of Linn, and Michael Vocks of Frankenstein; as well as Kim Owens-Moon of Linn. Dan was preceded in death by his biological father, Daniel McKinley Goldbeck, his parents Francis "Gene" and Joan Vocks, his brother-in-law Rex Byrd, and his beloved dog, Grizz.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Linn, Missouri, with friends and family invited to visit from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the family of Dan, c/o Chad or Corey Vocks.
