Darlene "Dolly" A. Sering, age 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Hilltop Assisted Living Alpine Terrace in Wisconsin Rapids.
A funeral service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 11:00 am with Rev. Timothy Ritter presiding. Visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Mausoleum in Wisconsin Rapids.
Dolly was born on February 7, 1936, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Chester and Sophia (Johnson) LeMay. She graduated High School from Rudolph High School. Dolly met the love of her life Norman Sering, and they were married on May 4, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Dolly was employed by Schmidt's Jewelry located in Johnson Hills Department Store, later known as Kline's, until she moved to the East Grand location. She met many special associates and customers who became close friends throughout her career.
Dolly was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Wisconsin Rapids Business and Professional Women. In her free time, she attended water exercise classes held at Lincoln High School and was a very avid walker. Dolly's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandkids. They were the light of her life. Family meals, holidays and celebrations were some of the many ways she showed her love.
Dolly is survived by her children, Patrice (Jerry Herman) Taschner, Al (Christina) Sering; grandchildren, Kara Taschner, Ross Taschner, Ryan Sering, Matthew Sering; sisters, Marie LeMay, June (Dennis "Kelly") Tomczyk; brothers-in-law, Donald "Bud" Crotteau, Hans Enerson, Wayne (Shirley) Sering, Darwin (Ardena) Sering; sisters-in-law, Mary LeMay, Carol LeMay and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norm Sering; son-in-law, Dennis Taschner; sisters, Agnes Knuth, Lillian Enerson, Dorothy Crotteau, Irene Gross Steinke; brothers, James LeMay, Clarence "Chet" LeMay, Chester "Fizzer" LeMay, Kenneth LeMay and parents-in-law, Leo and Irene Sering.
Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Hilltop Alpine Terrace both past and present, that cared so lovingly for Dolly. She was blessed with love and compassion from the staff and also fellow residents. Our family and Dolly are forever grateful to you. Thank you to Wisconsin Rapids Marshfield Clinic staff and providers and to St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate and responsive care. A big thank you to Immanuel Lutheran Church and the caring members that touched Dolly's life.
