Darlene A. Winkelmann (nee VanBooven), of O Fallon, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Leroy Winkelmann; cherished daughter of the late Otto and Martha VanBooven; devoted mother of Roger (Dawn) Winkelmann, David (Terri) Winkelmann, Mary (Jeff Gibson) Ziegemeier, the late Ron (Ann) Winkelmann and the late Karen Sue Winkelmann; loving grandmother of TJ (Raelynne) Winkelmann, Matt (Angela) Winkelmann, Kristen (Matt) Sherry, Mark Winkelmann, Meaghan Winkelmann, Jaclyn Ziegemeier, Isaiah (Megan) Winkelmann, Dylan (Becca) Ziegemeier, Nolan (Mady Smith) Winkelmann, Tyler Winkelmann, Clayton Ziegemeier, Gabriella Winkelmann and the late Justin Winkelmann; treasured great-grandmother of eight; dear sister of the late Orval VanBooven and the late Ida Mae Scheidegger. 

 

Darlene always took care of her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed serving others and making their favorite foods, but her favorite to make was her salsa. Darlene embroidered everything from pillowcases to quilts and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She liked watching Cardinals games and having a Natural Light during the game. Darlene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

 

Memorials may be made in Darlene's name to O Fallon, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at the age of 87.
