Darrel was a devoted husband, father, and follower of Christ. As a young man, he served the Lord as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Spanish American Mission, serving mainly in Texas and New Mexico. When he retired, he and his wife, Verna, served as missionaries in the Las Vegas Mission and as temple workers in the Las Vegas Temple. He is survived by his beloved wife, Verna; their children and spouses: four sons: Russell (Alycia) Hansen; Eric (Cheryl) Hansen; David (Jill) Hansen; Joseph (Tamara) Hansen, daughter, Anna Marie (Michael) Pruitt.
