Darryl J. Brown

Ontario – Darryl J. Brown, age 61, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife, Rebecca (Martin) Brown in 2008; and father, Ronald C. Brown in 2017. He is survived by three children, Tyler, Zachary and Abigail Brown; mother, Ruth Brown; three siblings, Patrick (Linda) Brown, Sharon Wurtenberg-Brown (Gary Wurtenberg) and Dana (Nancy) Brown; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and June Martin; three nieces, Ashley and Makenzie Brown, Jessica Wurtenberg; two nephews, Raymond (Betty) Spaulding and Matthew Wurtenberg; Darryl's partner, Wanda Gonzalez de Mercado and her family; and many dear friends.
Darryl was born in Rochester. He and his family moved to Farmington from Rochester in 1972. Darryl attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1979. He earned an associate's degree from Monroe Community College, class of 1981. Darryl worked for the Rochester City School District for over 32 years. He was an off-rink official for the Rochester Knighthawks and National Lacrosse League. Darryl was an avid golfer with a single digit handicap and was a member of Centerpointe Golf Club. He enjoyed attending his children's sporting and school events at Wayne Central School. Darryl will be remembered as an awesome and loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
