David was my cousin. The last time I saw him was next to the Station in New Gretna. It wasn't an unusual place to find him as he spent years working there, living there above the gas station itself and hanging out across the road with his friend Winnie. I have lots of memories of my visits to New Gretna and David was always full of humor and laughter when I was there. He attended a small school around the corner until grade six with his twin sister Diane and his brother Jim. The family lived lived in quite a few houses in and around the area and they all stayed close to their parents who were wonderful to me. In fact they were my godparents.
David was married to my best friend's sister who he met at a family wedding. They had one son who looked like both of them as I always recalled. I always thought they made such a good looking couple.
Life keeps us separated sometimes with responsibilities and we are not always close enough to share as many memories as we did when we were young. But the memories we did share sustain us and we can remember them even when that person is gone. I remember you David for all the times you made me laugh and all the silly faces and antics you made. I will remember how you overcame obstacles and rode your bike when you could not drive and lifted yourself up when you were in physical pain. I never once heard you complain and always remember saying I love you. Now you can have all the laughs you want up in heaven with my dad, your parents, Uncle Bib, your brother and the rest of our family. I hope Aunt Rose dances for you and Uncle Sonny and Uncle Hank play your favorite song while Aunt Lenie sings. Rest In Peace with the angels. Love, your cousin, Lorraine XO
