David Lee Corrick, son of Orville and Savilla Corrick, was born on April 18, 1943 in Marshalltown, Iowa and passed away on July 11, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas. David graduated from Marshalltown High School, received his Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State), and his Masters in Counseling/School Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa. He spent one year as a Broadcast Specialist in Vietnam and David described it as a year touring the country.
David began his long career in education teaching and coaching girls basketball in Missouri. He moved to Kansas and worked as a School Psychologist at Atchison-Jefferson Educational Cooperative in Oskaloosa where he met Sheri.
David married Sheri (Still) on July 30, 1988, at the United Methodist Church in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They spent their first year of marriage in Illinois and then returned to Kansas to be closer to family and friends. David and Sheri made their home in Wichita. David continued his career as a School Psychologist working for Sedgwick County Area Educational Interlocal Cooperative in Goddard and Conway Springs. After retiring, he continued to work part-time a few more years in the Wellington School District. David liked helping with wheat harvest on the Still family farm.
David was a wonderful husband, father, uncle and friend. He was kind-hearted and loving. He enjoyed photography and always had a camera with him. He liked to read, play cards, and watch sports. David never met a dog he did not love. David never missed a Jayhawk basketball game, whether he was watching at home or in Lawrence. Rock Chalk!
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra; and father and mother-in-Law, Bill and Della Still. Survivors include his wife, Sheri; son, David Platt; and daughter, Jamie. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Vesta Still; nephew, William and wife Rachael; great-nephew, Tommy Bennett Still; and niece, Kate Still.
