David James Kennedy, born January 2, 1954, of Bellingham, Massachusetts, and a former resident of Franklin, died suddenly on March 22nd of heart failure. He was 71.
David was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Laura (Freedman) Kennedy. He is survived by three children, Dan (Kristyn) Kennedy, Andrew (Natalie) Kennedy, and Tom Kennedy; his siblings, Michael, Peter, and Janet; his grandchildren Jacoby, Riley, and Olive; his companion Linda, and many treasured nieces nephews, and friends.
David was born in Ottawa, Canada, and was the eldest son of Bartholomew and Margaret Diane Kennedy. His family moved numerous times throughout his childhood before settling in Massachusetts, where he lived the rest of his life. Ambitious from an early age, he started his own landscaping business in High School. After attending Babson College in Wellesley, MA, he began a long and eclectic career that spanned Sales, Environmental Remediation, and Drug and Alcohol testing.
With his beloved wife Laura, David was a devoted and enthusiastic parent to his three sons. Whether it was sports, music and art, or language studies, he supported his children's interests and dreams. He consistently prioritized family and worked tirelessly to provide a stable home for them.
As a lifelong automobile enthusiast, David was often tinkering with, collecting, and admiring classic cars. He loved traveling to car shows and was always happy to help family and friends get their vehicle back on the road.

OMG, I still haven't accepted Dave's passing. It was a total shock to have my husband come home a week ago and tell me that Dave had died. We had a very close friendship and got together regularly and texted often.
I was on vacation during the services so was unable to attend, but I plan to visit his final resting site in the near future.

Dave was truly a special friend and I will miss him so much. There was never a more generous and caring individual than Dave, helping those less fortunate than him in so many ways. I am happy he is at rest with his beloved Laura who he was happily married to for so many years.

Rest in peace my sweet friend.

It was truly shocking the news of Dave's passing
We met through drug testing work we did for each other and 11 years later, I can say that in Dave I lost a friend more than a colleague.
I will really miss him- always had great stories, had such an interesting background. He was pleasant, funny, reliable, just a great man!! Im very sad we have lost him
