David Kerr Obituary

David was born to the late Katie (Zwicker) and Russell Kerr in Louisville, KY. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a police officer with the Louisville Police Department for 38 years, 31 of those as a helicopter pilot. David was a longtime member and musician with Cloverleaf Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Kenneth and Russell "Chip" Kerr.
David is survived by his wife of 22 years, Wanda (Jones) Kerr; daughters, Penny Smith (Todd), Michele Edwards (Allen), and Stacy Foreman (Todd); grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Melinda Ray (Austin), Amanda Keith (Nick), Spencer Foreman (Carolina), Cody Foreman (Sydney), Caleb Edwards, and Sierra Foreman; step-grandchildren, Spencer Ray (Samantha), and Cory Ray (Cecilia), and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Adley, Amelia, Murphy, Liam, Alexander, Maya, and Easton.
His funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2025, at Cloverleaf Baptist Church, 4401 Manslick Road, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
