David Lee Mason, 78, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 7, 1946 to Claude and Katherine (Pierce) Mason. He attended Vicksburg, Michigan Community Schools where he played baseball and football. Dave served in the Army from 1966 to 1968. He graduated from San Jose State University and received his MBA in business from Western Michigan University. He was a salesman for Continental Can Company in Columbus, Ohio and then was transferred to Palatine, Illinois. Dave held positions as a Manufacturer Representative in California and then returned to the Chicago area. Friends convinced him to start his own business and he moved to Dunwoody, Georgia and started Mason Sales Company that became Mason & Elmore Sales where he was a Manufacturer Representative for over 25 years.
Dave was married to Carol (Hanchon) for 50 years and they raised three children, Becki Miller (Aaron) Ryan (Katherine Phillips) and Kevin (Emily Nance). Kevin preceded him in death in 2018. Dave and Carol have six grandchildren, Mason, Mackenzie, Hudson, Austin Miller and Kevin and Grant Mason. Dave grew up with four brothers, Ronald, Claude Edward, Joe and Danny and one sister, Claudette. They have all preceded him in death along with his parents. He has many nieces and nephews.
Dave enjoyed fishing and volunteering with the Knights of Columbus at his church. He loved animals, especially his dog, Zoey, and all animals loved him. He enjoyed family vacations and being with his grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events. He has visited all 50 states and many countries over the years. Dave will be missed and remembered by his friends and family for his humor, love and kindness.

Services for David Mason will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.at All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mt. Vernon Road, Dunwoody, Georgia with interment of ashes and reception immediately following at All Saints.
