David McTyre Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Feb. 1, 2022.
David McTyre, an architect and resident of Beverly, MA passed away on January 17th from complications with diabetes.
David is survived by his son, Shelby McTyre, his mother, Kimble McTyre, his brothers, John, Ben, Walter, and Sam, and his cat, Foster Grant. He also leaves behind a whole lot of friends, family, and colleagues (Laura Myers 1st wife, Wendy Machmuller 2nd wife, & Rocky Johnsen) that loved him dearly.
David was born Sept. 23rd, 1962 to Samuel Edward McTyre and Kimble Jeanette McTyre (née Watkins) in Memphis, TN. He graduated in 1980 from Central High School in Memphis and attended Memphis State University and Boston Architectural Center. He displayed a talent and passion for architecture at an early age (running away to Coral Gables and getting a job as a draftsman until it was discovered he was a minor and sent home) and went on to a career in Memphis, Chicago, Indianapolis, & Boston. David was an incredibly talented architect, draftsman, and artist. Well respected by his peers and clients, David produced a body of work over the course of his life that was nothing short of brilliant. He was passionate about literature, the arts, and politics and loved to debate with anyone that didn't see the world the way he did. Smart, sardonic, witty, opinionated, and caring, he lived life and pursued his art on his terms. He will be missed.
