After his military service, Dave embarked on a long and distinguished career in law enforcement with the East Liverpool Police Department, where he served as a detective and juvenile officer from 1962 until 1990. Dave also spent many years volunteering alongside his family at First United Methodist Church where he would take part in many Barbara Tree activities, serving dinners, and delivering Christmas gifts and food to needy families in the area.
Of all of his accomplishments, Dave was most proud of his family. He could often be found at his granddaughters sporting events or behind the wheel of his car shuttling them from activity to activity while listening to his favorite tunes.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sondra Barnes Mumaw, whom he married on April 19, 1962. They shared 57 years together before her passing in 2020.
