On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, David Eden Mustain, loving husband and step-father, passed away at the age of 71.
Born in Prairie Grove, AR, February 15, 1953 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Ralph and Donna Mustain, his enduring love for trains sprang from the tracks next to his grandmother's Mom's Cafe in Decatur. Often he could be found making the rounds to see friends and family along the old rail lines.
A stranger to no one, David's quick wit and vast knowledge as a dedicated area historian ensured he always had a story to share - and a lewd joke, in the right crowd.
His final decades centered around his wife, Cindy, and their farm, which in turn they opened to family and friends, near and far, as an always-open door to the Elk River.
Loved by all, he will be missed by most. Please join us in celebrating his life and saying goodbye.
Survivors include his wife Cindy Oliver-Mustain of 25 years of the home; his daughter, Christa Waters and husband Eric and granddaughters, Skyler Vanzant, Ava Waters and one great- grandson, Luka; one sister, Diana Krizan of Springdale, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11am at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Charlie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Silent Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-7 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
