He was born in Louisville on July 4, 1938 to the late Dorothy M. Hillerich Stickler and David Thomas Stickler, Sr.
He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was the owner of Stickler & Associates Insurance Company, retiring after 50 years.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by son-in-law, John Wise; and brother, James Stickler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Ann Schoenbachler Stickler; children, Pamela Wise, Gregory T. Stickler, Cynthia M. Newsom (Paul), Brian Stickler (Teri), Becky McFee (Michael), James E. Stickler (Traci), Terri Pennie, and Carla Blair (Billy); brother, Harold Peak (Carolyn); sister, Etta Zwigard; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; other loving family members and friends.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Bernard Catholic Church 7500 Tangelo Drive with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road.
