Obituary
David Carter Wenstrand, beloved husband of Nancy Wenstrand, loving father of Patricia Sill, Douglas (Joanna) Wenstrand, and Julie (Bradley) Washick, devoted grandfather of Caroline Wenstrand, Andrew Wenstrand, and Max Washick, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 29, 2023.
David was born August 21, 1944, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to the late Edward Alton Wenstrand and Marion Carter Wenstrand. He received his Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University and his Ph.D. in physics from Kansas State University. His professional career was spent at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where he was a part of the Principal Professional Staff.
David was a long-time member of Chapelgate Presbyterian Church, where he served in various ministries including the prayer meeting, the diaconate, adult education, and small group Bible study. He was active in the Howard County Gideons for over 30 years.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, David is survived by four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, three nephews, and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Susan McMullen, his nephew Peter McMullen, and sister-in-law Gretchen Reilly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Brighton Gardens for their kindness and excellent care for David during his last months.

David was a good friend of our family. We knew him through Chapelgate Presbyterian Church and the Gideons. He was always upbeat, jovial, and a good friend. We will miss him.
