Dean was born to William "Art" and Nila (Baade) Hacker on July 12th, 1978, in Pierre, SD. He joined his big sister Nichole, and four years later, his little sister Melissa was born. The family moved to Rapid City and then to Aberdeen, where Dean attended Simmons Elementary and Junior High and graduated high school from Aberdeen Central in 1996. While attending school, he worked for Aberdeen Parks and Recreation at Wylie Park.
Dean attended North Dakota State University and later graduated from Northern State University with a Bachelor's in Science and Industrial Engineering. Dean started working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 2000 and was devoted to his career in Cartography as a Regional Geospatial Coordinator. He took honor in mapping Native American land and cherished all those he met.
Dean married Rebecca Olson and welcomed his son Quentin in May 2005. Quentin, Dean's "little man," was his pride and joy. Dean was immensely proud of all his son's achievements and supported him wholeheartedly. Their shared love for movies and their close bond was the light of Dean's life.
Dean's generosity and loving heart touched everyone who knew him. He treasured his close relationships and was always ready to help anyone in need. Known as the perfect gift giver, he went to great lengths to find unique and cherished presents. Dean loved riding his motorcycle and playing billiards with his close friends.
Dean's personality was truly unique. He always had a funny joke or story to share and made sure to leave everyone with a smile. Although Dean's passing felt sudden, his family members are forever grateful for every single breath they had with him, as each was a gift. They rest in knowing that he is now at peace.
Loving him dearly for eternity are his son, Quentin Hacker; parents, Art & Nila Hacker; sisters, Nichole Hacker and Melissa (John) Loebs; nephews and nieces: Nicholas, Kyla, Emma, Benjamin, Andrew (Victoria), and Adam; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents William & Julianna Hacker, Fredrick & Bonnie Baade; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
