Dean Timmerman, age 72 Auburn, IA, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Dean Edward Timmerman was born on January 28, 1950, to parents Louis and Camille (Barloon) Timmerman in Lake City, IA. Dean attended grade school in Auburn, IA, and graduated from St. Bernard's Catholic High School in Breda, IA. Dean went on to further his education at South Dakota University and transferred to Wayne State College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Dean enlisted into the Iowa National Guard on March 27, 1970. He earned the rank of SP4 along with a SS Expert award. He was honorably discharged on May 21, 1976.
On August 14, 1971, Dean was united in marriage to Ann Marie Blair at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburn, IA. This union was blessed with three children: Antonia, Andrea, and Kyle. They made their home in Auburn where Dean farmed for 45 years. Dean had a love for baseball; including his beloved New York Yankees. He played golf, town softball, and basketball and enjoyed a game of Euchre, a card game he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Dean had a great sense of humor, enjoyed a bowl of chili no matter what time of the year, and always loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Ann Timmerman of Auburn, IA; children: Antonia (John Keim) Lietz of Carroll, IA, Andrea Timmerman of Minneapolis, MN, Kyle (Nicci) Timmerman of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jordan, Aaron, Riley, Justin, Kaley, Coltley, Easton, and Camilla; two great-grandchildren: Jaylee, and Blakelynn; siblings: LuAnn Costa of CO, Linda (Ron) Klocke of MN, David Timmerman of OH, Lorie (Henry) Otto of Auburn, IA; sister-in-law Judy Timmerman of Ankeny, IA; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard (Dick) Timmerman, and brother-in-law Ben Costa.
