Delores Ann Osmundson, age 92 of Delavan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Mapleton Community Home. Delores was born on November 9, 1932, in Faribault County, MN to John and Mary Quint. A funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church in Delavan, MN. A time for visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Spencer Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago, as well as one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Burial will take place at East Lutheran Delavan Cemetery, Delavan.

Delores married the love of her Life – Roland Osmundson on March 20, 1949 and together they raised their 4 children on the farm. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family.

She was an active Curler at the Mapleton Curling Rink for many years. She found joy in her weekly bowling league with her friends. She was also inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame.

As a mother of four, Delores instilled her strong values and religious beliefs in her family. She led by example, teaching Sunday school for many years. She looked forward to serving coffee after church services, and serving as an officer in many capacities for the WELCA group. Delores also loved attending the weekly quilting circle at church. We have no idea how many quilts she helped sew and send off to help others across the country, but she was proud to be a part of something bigger.

Delores’s love for nurturing things was evident in her vegetable garden, which she lovingly tended  for decades. She’d always plant more than what she and Rollo could possibly eat, and would lovingly share the extras with family and neighbors.

Delores’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. The coffee pot was always on if a neighbor or relative stopped by to chat, and she ALWAYS had cookies or bars in the freezer ready for those unexpected visitors or grandchildren. Her holiday gatherings were eagerly anticipated by family. There was always total chaos, but she handled it all with grace and love.

Delores always looked to help others before herself. Examples include taking food to sick neighbors, babysitting whenever needed; baking cakes for the grandchildren’s birthdays or Confirmation, assisting others with transportation to medical appointments. She did whatever was needed. Delores was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect with anyone she met.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Diane Lechner, David (Gwen) Osmundson, and Ron (Sheila) Osmundson, Son-In-Law Warren Proehl and brother Roger Quint; 16 Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild as well as many other extended family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland, daughter, JoAnn, parents John and Mary, brothers Alva, Harold, Bobby, Larry, and sisters Isabelle, Hazel, and Marian.

A special thank you to Mapleton Community Home and their staff for the exceptional care they provided while she was there. They were her 2nd family. They often times would stop in her room and enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels with her.
