Dennis Ray Acord

Dennis Ray Acord, 77, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
He was born on May 2, 1948 in Kansas, Utah and was the son of the late Jim and Ruby (Jett) Acord.
Dennis was a graduate of Dixion R-1 Highschool, and a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he served durning the Vietnam war.
Dennis was a man whose passions were deeply rooted in family, nature, and community. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or shooting bows. His connection to the natural world was evident, and he found great joy in boating and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.
Family was always at the forefront of his life, and he took immense pride in supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they participated in various sports and activities. His encouragement and enthusiasm were a constant source of love and inspiration for the younger generations.
He had a strong appreciation for good food, with a particular fondness for deer meat, crab legs, and pizza. His love for simple pleasures was reflected in his everyday life. When he wasn't enjoying the outdoors or supporting his family, you could often find him watching TV, especially Westerns and outdoor shows, which reflected his love for adventure and the spirit of the open land.
He was also dedicated to his community, giving his time and effort to the VFW, where he was known for selling tickets and being an active volunteer. A loyal fan of baseball, he enjoyed following the Kansas City Royals and was always ready to talk about the latest game.
His life was a testament to his love of family, the great outdoors, and the many joys that came from simple, meaningful moments.

Services will be Thursday, September 18,2025 with a visitation at at 1:00pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors
